Theresa May  may take some time to settle in to her new position being not fully prepared. PM May may initially like to move slowly in the job and may not want her to be as dynamic as Margret Thatcher to start with.

PM May visit USA for early consultation with President Obama.

May may  participate in Security Council meeting.

mayWhether or not above proves right one thing is very obvious Theresa May’s second part of name “May” may cause trouble for news writers in sentences having May and may together or like in sentence “PM May visit USA” where May can be taken as may also changing its meaning completely. May be writers instead of writing freely may find it difficult and need more time on May/may affair. The above was only a sample only time would tell how news writers manage it or whether they are able to find a solution within limits of grammar?

The History and Evolution of Physical Comedy On the Silver Screen

At the very start of physical comedy there is the Italian “Commedia Dell’arte”, or Comedy of Art. It’s defining characteristics are comedic interludes, improvisational style and stock characters. The role of the body remains very important in comedy through the ages. Physical comedy even started some careers. We can all remember Jim Dale and his success at an audition after he got a big laugh because he tripped and fell on a stage.
What makes this genre evergreen is its simplicity and spontaneity. And these are the main reasons why it is still being re-used in the comedy movies of our age.

Has the ‘fun’ in your life gone South? Most people are far too serious these days. People in the past were able to have fun without spending a bundle of money. These days ‘fun’ seems to be measured by the amount of money we spend on it.

Circle the ‘yes’ or ‘no’ answer that applies to you.

Yes/No I prefer the Comics over Public Affairs and the Sports section in the newspaper.

Yes/No When shopping for a video/DVD to rent. I check the comedy section first.

Yes/No When selecting a movie or theater play to attend. I favor comedy over anything else.

God And Humor

We know why infants cry, but why they smile? It has been noticed that infants smile more while asleep or on the way to sleep, but that does not mean they don’t smile when not asleep. They do. Smiling while asleep may be due to sweet little dreams or as a preparation exercise for smiling while not asleep. It has been observed that these smiles decrease with age.

infant smileIt appears that when God created human he decided to give it the power to communicate on at least two occasions in the most earlier part of life that is when infant. One was power to show discomfort and the other power to show happiness. May be crying and smiling are those powers. When infant is feeling discomfort due to any reason, be it pain, fear or clothing he starts crying to give a call of discomfort to parents or whoever is in attendance, even when no one is there. It is a sort of call for attention for removing his discomfort. In case of smile it is a signal of happiness for those in vicinity as a sort of communication of gratitude.

A worldwide survey was conducted by the UN. The only question asked was: “Would you please give your honest opinion about solutions to the food shortage in the rest of the world?” The survey was a huge failure. In Africa they didn’t know what “food” meant. In Eastern Europe they didn’t know what “honest” meant. In Western Europe they didn’t know what “shortage” meant. In China they didn’t know what “opinion” meant. In the Middle East they didn’t know what “solution” meant. In South America they didn’t know what “please” meant. And in the USA they didn’t know what “the rest of the world” meant.

A man asks a farmer near a field, “Sorry sir, would you mind if I crossed your field instead of going around it? You see, I have to catch the 4:23 train.”
The farmer says, “Sure, go right ahead. And if my bull sees you, you’ll even catch the 4:11 one.”

Almost more than half of the period has expired when after a little knock he entered the classroom.

“ Where you have been”, Professor Haroon asked him.

“Sir it is a long story I will tell after the period,” he replied.

“We are almost through it, you may tell now so that all of us know and learn from it,” professor declared.

Now it was the turn of Mazaaqi (funny) to narrate the cause of his being late. His real

BLACK CATname was Akhtar Alam, but due to his jolly nature he was called Mazzaqi.

HUMOROUS STORIES. Getting Out of A Ticket

A man in his 40’s bought a new BMW and was out on the interstate for a nice evening drive. The top was down, the breeze was blowing through what was left of his hair and he decided to open her up. As the needle jumped up to 80 mph, he suddenly saw flashing red and blue lights behind him. “There’s no way they can catch a BMW,” he thought to himself and opened her up further. The needle hit 90, 100…. Then the reality of the situation hit him. “What the hell am I doing?” he thought and pulled over. The cop came up to him, took his license without a word and examined it and the car.

“It’s been a long day, this is the end of my shift and it’s Friday the 13th. I don’t feel like more paperwork, so if you can give me an excuse for your driving that I haven’t heard before, you can go.” The guy thinks for a second and says, “Last week my wife ran off with a cop. I was afraid you were trying to give her back.” “Have a nice weekend,” said the officer.

Develop a Sense of Humor

If you use humor effectively, it can help you, but if misused, it may backfire.

From my own experience, spontaneous humorous quips, witty comments are not consciously created. They just pop into your head and roll off your tongue.

Being funny definitely is a good thing. It makes you popular, fun to be around, and can lift situations that could otherwise be boring and a grind to endure.

You have to be careful, because people take you less serious, if all your dialogue comes out as being funny.

You have to know audience, and be able to judge your timing for humorous and witty comments.

Being in the Humor business, people often ask me to say something funny. It is hard to be funny on demand. You cannot force humor. If you try too hard to be funny, it often comes out flat.
