Everyone has one of those days when nothing seems right. You’ll have to admit that getting out of bed on one such day is an ordeal and you’d rather have the earth open up and swallow you whole. Instead of moping around and letting your mood go from bad to worse, here are some shows that should kick your depression out of the window.
(Note: Couple of these shows aren’t latest ones so you can always watch them online or download them from the right places).
Prison Break:
For four years, 2005 to 2009, this serial drama had millions of viewers on the edge of the seats. The story of one brother trying to help the other escape from a maximum-security prison will keep you hooked for a long time.
Lincoln (Dominic Purcell) is imprisoned for a crime he did not commit. His brother, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) is a structural engineer who comes up with the perfect plan to break his brother out of prison, before he receives the death sentence. The first season follows Michael as he enters Fox River State Penitentiary and sets his plan in motion.
However, the plot thickens as more twists and turns begin to crop up. There is something completely exciting about watching a serial that has innocent people on the run. Prison Break will not disappoint.
Dexter:
This one is still growing strong and has built up a fan following unlike any other. After all, how many shows out there have a good serial killer as the main protagonist? Michael C. Hall, who plays Dexter Morgan, works as a forensic science expert for the Miami Metro Police Department. However, by night, he becomes an emotionless killer, getting rid of criminals that slipped through the system.
The 2006 drama series is all set for its latest season and Dexter’s secret life is not so secret anymore. As it becomes tougher to continue with his old ways, new dangers crop up and threaten to drag all his skeletons out of the cupboard. If you’re feeling blue, this show will help you forget about everything as you keep up with Dexter and his actions.
Twin Peaks:
If you loved the 90s and wish you could turn back time; then Twin Peaks will help you do so. Weird would be an understatement for a show that ran for just about a season and a half. This means you can watch all the episodes in half a day.
What starts as a murder mystery of Laura Palmer after she was found wrapped in plastic on the riverbank, slowly escalates into something much more otherworldly. A one-armed man Mike, a dwarf in a red suit, demonic spirits, giants and vivid dreams are all part of this 90s series that will whisk you away to a fictional Washington town, with very real characters.
Prepare for an ending that you would never have expected. Twin Peaks is easily one of the most underrated shows that you should pick out on a depression-filled day. It will turn your world upside down (in a good way).
A lot of people think that comedy shows are the best way to get rid of depression. That’s not always true and sometimes funny shows might have the exact opposite effect. If you really want to fight the blues, then you should get hooked to shows that keep you guessing through every episode.
Once you’re glued to the couch and forgotten about everything else but one of the three shows mentioned here, that’s when you know your day’s going to get better. P.S: Don’t forget to call in sick.
